Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is well-known for starting modern scientific studies of children's memory as eyewitnesses and also the application of child victims in court contexts. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with numerous publications and many grants to her name and is the recipient of numerous national and global awards. She has worked with many government agencies and institutions all over the world to conduct policy and research relating to children who are victims of the legal system. She is currently a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of several professional organizations, such as those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). Professor Goodman is part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a founding member and International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
